A Butterfly that cannot fly - drawing contest winners
Despite the fact that North Korea ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child in 1990, North Korean children cannot enjoy the right to education, medical care, or even food. Hence, Citizens’ Alliance for North Korean Human Rights, in cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, organized the drawing contest, “Life of North Korean Children through the Eyes of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.” 233 students submitted their drawings and, through a careful judging process, 35 people were selected as finalists. All of the 35 prize-winning pieces are presented below.
